What chin filler can correct

How it is done

The appointment takes about 30 minutes and we use medical grade numbing cream first. Filler is placed beneath the surface of the chin to build up the tissue around it. Typically one or two syringes are used, though this varies with what you are trying to achieve. The result is visible on the day and carries on settling for two to three weeks. Swelling, redness, tenderness and occasional bruising are the usual short-lived effects; what to do about them is set out in our dermal filler aftercare notes.

Who should not have this treatment

Most people tolerate chin and jawline filler well, but there are situations where we would postpone or decline. Some of them mean waiting rather than ruling the treatment out. We check all of this at the consultation, so tell us about your health and anything you are taking.

• blood-thinning medication, unless your doctor has cleared it
• a known allergy or sensitivity to any of the ingredients
